Pricing

Pay for what you use.

The Companion is for people. The avatar SDK and the voice APIs are for companies, billed by use from one prepaid balance.

Yoob Companion

Personal use

The face, the voice and the listening all run on your phone. The brain runs on ours. Personal, non-commercial use only: it can’t be embedded in another product or resold.

Frontier brain: optional, meteredPrefer a bigger model or a cloud voice? Both are available per-minute at our provider cost plus margin, shown before you switch it on. The included brain stays free.
Why the free tier can be this generousYour phone draws every frame and speaks every word, so a free hour costs us a fraction of a cent of GPU for the conversation alone. Nobody serving avatars from a datacenter can match that, at any burn rate.

Yoob SDK

Commercial

Put a Yoob character inside your own app. Usage is billed by the conversation minute from a prepaid balance. Pay as you go, or subscribe to Yoob SDK for $10/week or $199/year, credited to your balance. Bring your own voice, or use Yoob voice and skip the provider key.

Per minuteAvatar + voiceTotal
Your own voice or key$0.03 + $0$0.03
Yoob voice$0.03 + $0.05$0.08
Worked example: 1,000 minutesWith Yoob voice, 1,000 × $0.08 = $80.
With your own voice key, 1,000 × $0.03 = $30, and your provider bills its own minutes.
Prepaid creditBuy a $10, $50 or $200 top-up pack through Paddle and see your balance in the console. With a Yoob SDK subscription, auto top-up uses your saved card. Sessions stop when the balance reaches zero.
Spend capsSet a monthly spend cap so a traffic spike can’t run past your budget.
How minutes are countedThe SDK reports conversation seconds. Rendered frames are never counted, never capped, and never charged: only time a character is actually in a conversation.

All prices in US dollars, plus applicable tax.

Voice APIs

Usage-based

Overtone, Undertone, Duotone and Truetone are billed by what you use, from your workspace credits on the same key: text to speech per thousand characters, transcription per hour of audio, and voice checks per minute of audio. For current rates and volume terms, write to sales@yoob.com.

Cost comparison

What it costs against the alternatives.

Monthly render bill at 10,000 minutes
Rates and sources

Vendor-published list rates for their realtime product, entry paid tier, own currency, checked 26 July 2026. Most are overage rates after a bundled allowance, and at volume most vendors quote below list. Simli’s pricing page 404s and D-ID’s won’t render, so we publish no number for either. Hedra is excluded: offline generation, not a realtime stream.

Where a plan’s included minutes are published (Tavus), we subtract them. The bars use our $0.03 avatar rate; our row also shows the $0.08 rate with Yoob voice. We have not verified which vendor rates include a voice, so we don’t pair either of our rates with any vendor’s. A Yoob SDK subscription is prepaid usage credit, so it doesn’t change the per-minute cost.

Billing

Billing questions, answered before checkout.

Who charges my card?

Paddle.com is our reseller and merchant of record. Your card statement shows Paddle, Paddle calculates and collects sales tax or VAT, and Paddle issues the receipt and the invoice.

Do prepaid credits expire?

Purchased top-up credit is valid for 12 months from purchase. Subscription credit is granted each billing period and expires at the end of it; unused subscription credit does not roll over. Trial credit expires after 30 days. Credit is not transferable between accounts and cannot be exchanged for cash, except as the refund policy describes.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, for unused credit. Ask within 14 days of a purchase and we refund the part you have not spent. A subscription payment can be refunded within 14 days if none of its credit was used. The full rules are in the refund and cancellation policy.

How do I cancel the Yoob SDK subscription?

In the console, under Billing, choose Cancel subscription, or use the link in any Paddle receipt. It stops renewing at the end of the current period. Until then you keep using your subscription credit; unused subscription credit expires when the period ends. Purchased top-up credit is not affected and stays valid for 12 months from purchase.

When does the subscription renew, and do you remind me?

The weekly plan renews every 7 days and the yearly plan every 365 days, at the price shown at checkout, until you cancel. We email a reminder before each yearly renewal, and before any price change.

What happens at zero balance in the middle of a session?

Without auto top-up, new sessions are refused until you top up, and a running session ends with an error code your app can handle. With auto top-up on, sessions keep running up to $5 below zero while your saved card is charged. A monthly spend cap stops sessions whatever your balance.

Can I get an invoice with my company details and VAT number?

Yes. Add your company name, address and VAT or tax ID at checkout, and Paddle issues the invoice. Enterprise customers can pay by bank transfer against an invoice.

Does the Companion cost money?

The demo and the Free plan cost nothing. Plus is $19 a month and renews monthly until you cancel. On iPhone, a subscription bought in the App Store is billed and refunded by Apple under Apple’s rules.

Not sure which lane you’re in?

If it’s for you, it’s the Companion and it’s free. If it ships inside something you sell, it’s the SDK or the voice APIs. If you’re somewhere between (a research project, a class, a game jam), email us and we’ll almost certainly just say yes.
