Acceptable Use Policy

A synthetic face that speaks convincingly is a genuinely dual-use technology. These rules are the ones we will actually enforce, including against paying customers.

Identity and consent

  • Do not create or request a character depicting a real person without their documented, informed consent. This applies to public figures.
  • Do not present a Yoob character as a real human being. Users must be able to tell they are talking to software.
  • Do not use a character to claim endorsement, authority or affiliation that does not exist.

Prohibited uses

  • Fraud, social engineering, phishing, or impersonating an organisation or official.
  • Election interference, or synthetic statements attributed to candidates or officials.
  • Sexual content involving minors, or any depiction of a minor in a sexualised context. This is absolute.
  • Harassment, stalking, or content targeting a private individual.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery of any kind.
  • Medical, legal or financial advice presented as coming from a licensed professional.

Consumer product

The Companion is for personal, non-commercial use. It may not be embedded in another product, used to serve third parties, or operated on behalf of a company. Commercial use requires the SDK.

Enforcement

We can suspend accounts and revoke character licences. Custom character bakes are refused if we cannot verify rights to the identity, and we refuse them regularly — a signed request is not evidence of consent.

Reporting

Report abuse to abuse@yoob.com. Reports involving a real person’s likeness are prioritised.
